Bucket Wheel Reclaimer

The detailed fatigue analysis and residual life prediction for a bucket-wheel bridge reclaimer – a project typical of many machine and structural investigations, combining strain gauge based load and fatigue stress measurements with detailed FEA analysis.

Some 60 channels of data collected over a substantial number of weeks, including machine position data obtained by interfacing to on-board control signals. Detailed analysis of strain data using Rainflow cycle counting and code based fatigue analysis, supported by comprehensive FEA based stress analysis.
